White Wines

Bethel Heights Vineyard

2007 Pinot Blanc Estate - Aromas of deep mineral, wet stone, citrus, white peach, and faint grass seed lead you to concentrated flavors of lemon rind, hint of the tropics with good acidity and structure.   $14.40

2006 Chardonnay Estate - Smoky pit fruits and poached pear on the nose, with a subtle vanilla quality when exposed to the air. Fresh and juicy, with pliant peach and yellow plum flavors.   Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, April 2008, 90 points   $22.50

St. Innocent's Winery

2006 Pinot Gris – Vitae Springs Vineyard.   Intensely spicy nose with orange peel and citrus notes. That spiciness continues into the mouth with pear, apple and citrus flavors. It is very textural in the mouth. Completely dry, it is a great match for Asian-influenced foods, appetizers, and fish entrees.   $17.10

Chalone Vineyard (Monterey County)

2005 Chardonnay – This is a fine and delicate wine with aromas of stone fruit, vanilla, and hazelnut.   The acidity is firm and bright.   The wine possesses a great deal of minerality making this an age-worthy Chardonnay.   But, hey, why wait!   It's definitely drinkable now.   Its rich flavors, distinctive minerality and crisp acidity make it a very versatile wine   $24.50

2004 Pinot Blanc - This Pinot Blanc was whole-cluster pressed with no crushing or destemming of the grapes. Leaving the wine on the lees adds the signature hazelnut character typical of white wines from this winery, which builds roundness and finish. This lovely wine offers bright flavors of crisp apple and brioche. It has a wonderful smooth and creamy texture, medium to full body and balanced acidity. Enjoy it on its own as an aperitif before a meal to prepare your palate for a lovely summer's meal.   $22.00

Folie a Deux Menage a Trois

2006 White Blend - This white is a trip to the islands without the worry of sunburn or bugs. It's undeniably fruity and unabashedly easy. It's meant to be quaffed, not analyzed. Citrus and tropical fruit flavors with crisp acidity, dare I say it's refreshing? With food or without, alone or with friends.   This Menage à Trois white marries Chardonnay, Muscat and Chenin Blanc. The Chardonnay is rich and firm, the Muscat is wild and exotic and the Chenin Blanc is soft and supportive. Together they make the perfect threesome.   $10.50

Parducci (1st U.S. Carbon Neutral Winery)

2006 Pinot Grigio – A few weeks ago, I recommended Parducci's petit syrah – and ended up getting raves!   So thought we'd venture into their white arena.   This Pinot Grigio was fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve the wine's crisp, racy fruitiness.   It bares lemon cream, grapefruit and jasmine aromas with hints of lime and clove.   In the mouth, creamy citrus flavors yield to a tart, lingering finish.   Great accompaniment to Caprese salad, sushi or risotto.    $10.50

J. Hofstatter Winery (Italian)

2005 Pinot Grigio De Vite - Straw yellow with hints of green, bright aromas of fresh apples, grass, and lemon with a hint of vanilla, balancing acidity, and a lively, mineral driven finish.   $17.00
